SYNOPSIS

May 1940. At the beginning of World War II in Europe, Spain declares itself neutral, but the city of Huelva is a hub of both British and German spies, all trying to seize control of the Riotinto mines, owned by the British.

Lucía, a brave and ambitious twenty-year-old who lives with her family in the English Quarter, has been hired by The Company as a secretary due to her exceptional skills, language knowledge, and quick mind. Her desire for independence worries her fiancé, Francisco, the Government delegate in Huelva, who struggles to maintain a delicate balance between his sympathies for the Germans and the British rights over the mines.

Peter, an Englishman and manager at The Company, has left his work as a spy behind due to a traumatic experience. With Churchill’s rise to power, Peter will have to confront both his German enemies and his deepest fears, returning to espionage.

Lucía eventually becomes a spy herself and falls in love with Peter. Together, they undertake increasingly dangerous missions aimed at halting the German advance.

What no one knows is that the seemingly diligent secretary hides many secrets—secrets that will put her relationship with Peter, her marriage with Francisco, her family’s stability, and even the course of the war at risk.
